Written Exam Syllabus
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: The test for general intelligence and reasoning will assess the candidate's analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns. The questions will primarily be of a non-verbal nature and may cover topics such as analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding, decoding, etc.
- General Knowledge and General Awareness: This component of the test will evaluate the candidate's general awareness of the environment. The questions will aim to test their knowledge of current events and their understanding of everyday observations and experiences from a scientific perspective. The test will also include questions related to India and its neighboring countries, particularly in the areas of sports, history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity, Indian constitution, scientific research, etc. These questions will not require specialized knowledge in any particular discipline.
- Elementary Mathematics: This section will consist of questions on various mathematical problems. The topics covered will include number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, and the relationship between numbers. The questions will also assess the candidate's understanding of fundamental arithmetic operations, percentages, ratio and proportion, averages, interest, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time, time and work, etc.
- English / Hindi: The candidates' ability to comprehend basic English or Hindi will be tested in this section. The questions will assess their understanding of the language and their basic comprehension skills.
